banana bread

BANANA BREAD
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs , beaten
2 1/3 cups mashed overripe

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 F . Lightly grease 9x5 inch loaf pan. In a large bowl combine first three ingredients. In a separate bowl cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Pour batter into pan and bake for 60-65 minutes.





homemade bread

#1 HOMEMADE BREAD
ingredients:
1/2 cup of oatmeal
1/2 cup of grits
1/2 cup of bulgar wheat
Tbsp of salt
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup brown sugar or honey
1 pkg of yeast (2.5 tsp)
5-6 cups flour (you can use 2-3 cups whole wheat if you prefer)


directions:
Combine first 6 ingredients. Add 2 cups of boiling water and let sit until room temperature. Prepare yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water (between 110-120 degrees) and let sit for 5 minutes. Add yeast to grain mixture and stir in flour. Knead. Oil bowl and let dough rise until doubled. Form into 2 loaves and let rise. Bake at 375 for 40-50 minutes.
